About Chris Papp

AI Governance Practitioner &

Digital Trade Infrastructure Advisor

Chris Papp brings 25+ years of experience in global trade, logistics, and export compliance to his advisory practice at the intersection of AI governance, digital trade policy, and public-sector infrastructure readiness.

He participates in four Digital Governance and Standards Initiative (DGSI) Technical Committees — TC1 (Data Governance), TC2 (Artificial Intelligence), TC4 (Digital Trust & Identity), and TC6 (Connected Cities) — and has been accepted onto the Canadian Mirror Committee for ISO/TC 309 (Governance of Organizations) at the Standards Council of Canada.

Chris contributed as an invited practitioner to the UNCITRAL Colloquium on Digital Platforms Governing Global Trade (February 2026) and participates in the UN/CEFACT eCMR Working Group. In June 2026, he will present at the International Digital Trade and Trade Policy (IDTTP) Symposium at TU London / Here East, alongside keynote speakers from the World Trade Organization and the UK Law Commission.

He has submitted formal consultation briefs to four federal trade agreement processes — Canada–UAE CEPA, Canada–India CEPA, Canada–Thailand FTA, and Canada–Mercosur — and was invited by the Office of the Manitoba Minister of Finance to contribute to the Manitoba Budget 2026 consultation.

His advisory work focuses on AI governance and assurance in regulated environments, digital trade standards, and public-sector adoption pathways for audit-ready, interoperable infrastructure.

Chris is also Founder & CEO of TransPacific Trade Nexus (TPTN), a Canada-first sovereign digital trade infrastructure initiative designed to reduce export friction through trusted, interoperable, and Canadian data-resident workflows.

A Canada-first sovereign digital trade infrastructure initiative, TPTN is designed to reduce cross-border export friction for Canadian SMEs — with particular focus on non-US corridors including Canada-ASEAN and Canada-EU. Architected to align with UNCITRAL MLETR, CAN/DGSI 104, UN/CEFACT, and international interoperability standards, TPTN operates at the demonstration-prototype stage with MVP build and pilot structuring underway.

TPTN holds DGC-VV-2025-07, an interim acknowledgement of a completed MLETR self-assessment, and received a score of 92/96 on the Innovative Solutions Canada Testing Stream TS12 (AI) evaluation — with full conformance testing pending. Exploratory discussions are ongoing with federal and provincial government stakeholders.
